You walk through an old orchard in Chroussa, among lemon, orange, and mandarin trees of the old Chian variety. Since 2021, certified organic vegetables and fruits have been cultivated here with care and love — winter spinach and broccoli, summer tomatoes, watermelons and melons, herbs, lemons, and mandarins.
Every Saturday, the farm comes alive: the people of Syros arrive with their baskets, children play under the trees, and the community gathers and shares. Students and groups also take part in hands-on environmental education programs, while visitors to the island can enjoy orchard dinners with seasonal produce and local wines, walks among the trees and caper bushes, cooking classes with harvests straight from the garden. Often, the space fills with music, dance, and theatrical performances.
Here, nature, culture, and people come together in one living circle.
